Since the inception of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013, 10 years have been passed. Meanwhile, China-US trade friction, breakout of COVID-19, conflict between Russia and Ukraine have been envisaged. In the complex and ever-changing international political and economic landscape, global industrial and supply chains are changing, while as a critical element of the global supply chain, maritime transportation and logistics are facing a series of new opportunities and challenges. Moreover, the China-Railway Express, which has played an important role in international trade transportation since the BRI in 2013, will also face some new situations in the Eurasian continent. At this moment, we welcome the 8th annual conference of The Global Research Network Belt - Road Initiative (GRN-BRI). The GRN-BRI having members from 60 institutes in 40 countries along the Belt and Road is an independent research network providing a global platform for researchers to share and collaborate on research projects in the field of logistics, transport, international trade, and supply chain (https://grn-bri.com/). This yearly conference is one of the serial international conferences, industry seminars, and training workshops that disseminate the latest research and strategic insights to enhance policy-making and support economic development.
As the organizers of this conference, we are very happy that finally it is able for scholars from various concerning fields to gather onsite and have face-to-face discussions on various topics related to international trade transportation and shipping logistics in this conference, which aims to explore and discover the trends in international trade, transportation, and shipping logistics under the new world environment and situation. It also aims to analyze the challenges faced by stable port and international transportation and logistics supply chains.
Here, on behalf of the organizer of this annual conference, we sincerely invite all academic professionals, government policy-makers, and practitioners, to come to the beautiful and port city of Ningbo, which is the world’s largest port, to engage in academic exchanges at Ningbo University. This event will provide the participants with exchanges of views and insights into the greening, reliability, and security of global maritime transportation and logistics and supply chain. At the end of this conference, the best papers will be selected for possible inclusion in the special issue of several international journals. And a technical tour to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, one of the biggest container terminals will be arranged.
Authors should submit their extended abstracts papers (Maximum 1,000 words) by 30 September 2023 via This Link (will be announced). The abstract and/or full papers should include the authors’ affiliations and contact information.
Selected extended abstracts and papers will be presented at the 8th GRN-BRI Conference, Ningbo (China) during the conference on 3-5, November, 2023.
At the end of this conference, selected papers will be considered for inclusion in special issues of international journals (SCOPUS, SSCI/SCI/SCIE indexed) and an edited book by Elsevier Publishing Company (to be announced)
